Available Field Water Capacity
Available Water Capacity is the difference between Field Capacity and Wilting
Point.
This table contains average figures from a range of values for each texture. the range
depends on the variation in particle size, organic matter and compaction.
Note: These are average values. Individual soils will vary dependent on particle size,
organic matter and compaction.
Some irrigation consultants will advise you not to record mm deficit unless you can
confidently measure and interpret your own soil's Field Capacity.
