3. Enter commands to configure the Network parameters for the user, by entering
commands in the format:
set user name=Bill <parameter>=<value>
As in step 2, you can include more than one parameter in each command.
PortServer II displays the list of network parameters that you will configure for
the user. If this is a new user, default settings are provided for the parameters, as
shown below:

The maximum time in seconds for which the user may be con-
nected before the user is disconnected.
0
means there is no limit.
AddrCompress
If set to
on
, PortServer II attempts to negotiate address
compression on any PPP connection. If set to
off
, no
negotiation is attempted.
BringUp
The name of a BringUp filter that PortServer II will use
to initiate a remote connection. See

uring Modem Connections
for information on filters.
