Crankshaft
The double-bearing cr an kshaft is a ca sting made of high-
stre ngth cas t iron and has two crank s arr anged in the same plane
at an angl e of 180 °. It con .s i sts of t wo (front and rear) journals, a
web and two c rankpin s.
The
crankshaft ts installed in the engine crankcase in two bea-
rings 30 and 39 (Fig . 6). Fitted on the front end of the cran kshaft
are driving pinion 4 of the tim ing gear and a centr ifuge, the ta-
pered and of the rear journal is pro vid ed with flywheel 22.
If operat ed under normal conditions, the crankshaft together wit h
the crankpin s liding beari ngs will h ave a l ong service life. But in
