check the proper adjustment of 1 he manual arive: depress the foot
gearshift pedal to fully engage any of the speed g. ears. The hand
cl ukh release lever is withdrawn in the dir·ection of the handlebar
grip. The pe:-oeption of the cahle tightening (resistance) should ap-
pear only at the end of travel at close proximity of the lever to the
grip (about 1-5 mm) .

The motorc ycle must not be operated until the clutch release me-
· chanism is properly adjusted.

6. The motorcycle is put in reverse only when the g@arshift me-
chanism is in the main neutr al position, that is, when it is betwe en
the first and second gears. This position is indicated by the lighting
-of the neut.ral position indica tor lamp.
Applying t oo great an effort when, shifting to reverse at other
posi.tions of the gearshift disk, may result in breakage. A failure ma y
a-lso occur when too mu ch effort is applied to engage any of the
speeds with the reverse ge ar engaged.
