the neutral position transmitter. In the neutral position the t rans-
mitter spring closes, through an insulated contact, the electric cir-
cuit of the warning ]· amp fitted on the dashboard. When one of the
arms of the foot gearshift pedal is d epresse d with the foot, shifter
shaft 9 (Fig . 16) linked with the crank-cam, obtains a rocking mo-
tion.

The p aw l acts on one o~ the gear shift disk .pins, thus causing the
disk to
turn. The disk is fi xe d by m ea ns of a lever ca tch. Th e rev er -
se
gear is engaged with lever 5 (Fig. 19), provided at the rig ht-han d
side of the gear box. The lever, be ing flexible, can be fixed in a ce r-
ta in position on the bevels of the casing and the cover with the help
of a
round-head scr ew. When the lever handle is shifted fo r ward, the
rev •e rse shift fo rk and ,the sliding ge ar of the second ary shaft are
also moved f orwar d. As a result, the sliding g ea r comes int o mesh
