13. Verify that the brackets are seated firmly, then tighten the wing nuts on the rear hold-down brackets. The
EBM is now secured in the rack.
CAUTION
A small amount of arcing may occur when connecting an EBM to the UPS. This is normal and will not harm
personnel. Insert the EBM cable quickly and firmly into the UPS battery connector.
14. Verify that all battery circuit breakers on all UPSs are in the OFF (O) position.
15. Plug the EBM cable(s) into the battery connector(s) as shown in Figure 39. Up to four EBMs may be
connected to each UPS.
16. Parallel system only. Repeat Steps 14 and 15 for each UPS with EBM(s).
See Figure 40 and Figure 41 for examples of EBM connections in a parallel system.
NOTE Each UPS in a parallel system must have the same number of EBMs.
