Electronics verification of the Model 8800C can be done by either
utilizing the internal signal simulation capability or by applying an
external signal source to the TEST FREQ IN and GND pins.
NOTE
It is not recommended to perform electronics verification while the
process is running. If both operations are performed simultaneously,
the effect of dual input frequencies may cause error in the electronics
verification.
Using the Model 275 or AMS, the sensor can be disconnected from the
electronics before you begin. The sensor may also be manually
disconnected from the electronics as described in Install the Electronics
Housing on page 4-15.
SAFETY MESSAGES Instructions and procedures in this section may require special
precautions to ensure the safety of the personnel performing the
operations. Please refer to the following safety messages before
performing any operation in this section.
Explosions could result in death or serious injury:
Do not remove the transmitter cover in explosive atmospheres when the circuit is alive.
Before connecting a HART-based communicator in an explosive atmosphere, make sure
the instruments in the loop are installed in accordance with intrinsically safe or
non-incendive field wiring practices.
Verify that the operating atmosphere of the transmitter is consistent with the appropriate
hazardous locations certifications.
Both transmitter covers must be fully engaged to meet explosion-proof requirements.
Failure to follow these installation guidelines could result in death or serious injury:
Make sure only qualified personnel perform the installation.
Remove power before removing the electronics housing.
