Explanation of the terms: Turn down (TD), set span and zero based span
Case 1:
Lower range value Upper range value
Example:
Lower range value (LRV) = 0 mbar
Upper range value (URV) = 100 mbar
Nominal value (URL) = 500 mbar
Turn down:
•TD = URL /URV:1
set span:
URV – LRV = 100 mbar
This span is based on the zero point.

Example: 500 mbar sensor
Case 2:
Lower range value Upper range value
Example:
Lower range value (LRV) = –300 mbar
Upper range value (URV) = 0 bar
Nominal value (URL) = 500 mbar
Turn down:
•TD = URL / (LRV) = 1.67:1
set span:
URV – LRV = 300 mbar
This span is based on the zero point.
