Cabinet
The RVM’s cabinet is comprised of a top cabinet and two commodity storage cabinets below. The
top cabinet houses the
RVM’s In-Feed, Sorting Cylinder, compactors, and all of its electronic and
electrical components. The lower cabinets house the commodity bins and door interlock sensors.
3.2.1.
Door Interlock
The door interlock feature prevents anyone from running the compactor while any cabinet door is
open. The RVM detects open doors through the use of magnetic reed sensors. Whenever the
magnetic circuit is broken, a signal is transmitted to the RVM Controller to shut off the compactor
power. The display shows a message indicating which door is open.
