Connection to a PC with WeldSight Remote Connect 75
7. Connection to a PC with WeldSight Remote Connect
This chapter describes how to connect an OmniScan X3 flaw detector to a PC
(WeldSight Remote Connect).
7.1 Launching WeldSight Remote Connect
To do before the first launch
1. Install WeldSight on your computer if it is not already done. A WeldSight license
is required to acquire data in WeldSight. With a WeldSight Analysis license, you
will only be able to analyze data files acquired on the on-board software MXU.
2. Configure the Ethernet network card of the PC with a fixed IP address.
a) Open the list of network connections in the Windows Control Panel, and
identify the connection used to connect to the OmniScan X3. Find the
Ethernet card network, right-click on it and select Properties.
b) Double-click on the TCP/IPv4 settings (Figure 7-1 on page 76).
