About the MLC 62 Series MediaLink
®
Controllers
The Extron MLC 62 Series MediaLink Controllers are panels
designed to control a wide range of smaller A/V systems in any
small classroom or meeting room. They act as extended remote
control panels, telling the display when to switch between its
various inputs.
The MLC 62 series provide universal control for a display’s
power, input switching, and volume control. For one-button
functionality, the MLC 62 controllers feature eight labeled
back-lit buttons. If desired, these buttons can be replaced
with buttons having different labels, also provided with the
controller. The buttons can be configured using the MLC 62
Windows
®
-based configuration software.
The MLC 62 is housed in a secure one-gang enclosure, which
can be mounted on a lectern, desk, wall, or electrical junction
box.
Differences between MLC 62 models
Both MLC 62 models have the same button functionality and
configuration software. The MLC 62 D is the US version of the
controller; the MLC 62 EU is the European version.
Both versions control devices via both RS-232 and IR. They
differ from each other in the following ways (see the illustrations
on the next page):
• The EU model is provided with a Jung frame and fits over
a standard one-gang EU junction box.
• The D model has a one-gang Decora
®
style faceplate. It fits
in a one-gang US junction box.
• Some side and rear panel connectors are located in
different places on the two models (see "Front and Right
Side Panels" in chapter 2, "Hardware Setup").
