Assembly of the coupling comprises the following steps:

Danger due to bursting of the coupling
If you do not observe the information stipulated here regarding assembly, this can lead to
bursting of the coupling during operation. There is a risk of fatal injury from flying frag-
ments. If a coupling bursts in an area at risk of explosion, then this can result in an explo-
sion.
Please observe all the stipulations concerning assembly.
Notes regarding assembly of the coupling
Only use undamaged components when assembling the coupling.
Follow the assembly sequence.
In order to assemble the coupling without any risk, ensure sufficient space for assembly
and later care and maintenance work.
Ensure order and cleanliness at the assembly site.
If a dimension drawing has been created for the coupling, please observe the informa-
tion it contains as a matter of priority.
5.1 Preparatory work5.1 Preparatory work
FLUDEX coupling
The FLUDEX coupling is supplied with the hub carrier part attached. If the delivery was
made with oil filling, drain the oil before assembly or before necessary rework and collect it
for later use.
The hub carrier part is delivered pre-drilled or ready-drilled and fluted. In any case, the coup-
ling is designed to be balanced according to customer requirements or as standard accord-
ing to the half-parallel-key agreement (DIN ISO 21940-32) to balancing quality 6.3 (DIN ISO
21940) for 1800 rpm.
Carry out the following steps if the hub carrier part does not have a finished bore:
Milling the finished bore (Page28)
Milling the parallel keyway (Page31)
Machining an axial locking mechanism (Page31)
