WARNING
Severe personal injury due to flying fragments
Severe personal injury due to flying fragments and/or damage to coupling possible. If a
coupling bursts in an area at risk of explosion, then this can result in an explosion.
• Observe the prescribed filling quantities.
• Fill the operating fluid at the bore at the filling plug (153).
5. After filling, tighten the filling plug (153) and the screw plug (163)/the fusible safety plug
(103) to the prescribed tightening torque.
For the tightening torques, see Chapter Tightening torques and widths A/F (Page80).
6. Check the coupling for leakage during a short test run. Hold a sheet of clean paper near
the rotating outer shell of the coupling, parallel to the axis of rotation.
Spraying operating fluid becomes visible on the paper.

Serious physical injury caused by spraying hot operating fluid during operation.
• Observe the tightening torques for the filling plug (153) and the screw plug (163) / the
fusible safety plug (103).
• Check the coupling for leakage.

In the event of drive malfunctions, e.g. blocking the output side, the coupling may overheat. If
the fusing temperature of the fusible safety plug is reached, the insert melts and the hot op-
erating fluid escapes.
Ensure the housing is designed in such a way that it also provides protection against spray-
ing hot operating fluid without significantly impairing the coupling ventilation.
