Operation
7.2 Fault – causes and correction
M4602-02en Edition 09/2022 53
Procedure
1. Check the wear on the flexible elements (12) (see Section Maximum permissible tor-
sional backlash (Page56)).
2. Replace the flexible elements (12) if necessary (see Section Replacing the flexible ele-
ments (Page57)).
7.2.3.2 Correcting the changed alignment7.2 Fault – causes and correction
A changed alignment of the coupling during operation often occurs when the coupled ma-
chines shift compared to one another. A cause of this can be loose foundation bolts.
Procedure
1. Correct the cause for the change in alignment.
2. Check the wearing parts for wear and replace them as required.
3. Check the locking elements that prevent axial movements and correct these as required.
4. Realign the coupling.
7.2.3.3 Replacing the fusible safety plug7.2 Fault – causes and correction
1. Remove the cause of overheating or blockage.
2. Fit new fusible safety plugs with new sealing rings.
3. Fill the coupling according to Chapter Commissioning (Page47).
