NAbeam E-Series Installation Manual
SONAbeam Safety Certification
To retain the safety certifications of your SONAbeam terminals, the power system
installed for your terminals must provide short circuit protection and a suitable power
disconnect device:
Circuit Protection
A fuse or circuit breaker suitable for branch circuit protection MUST be provided in the
building installation.
A single pole protection device is acceptable where the earthed conductor in the Mains
Supply can be positively identified (where it connects to the equipment). In this case, the
protective device need only interrupt the unearthed (line) conductor.
However, when the equipment is used where the identification of the earthed conductor
in the Mains Supply is not possible, the protective device must interrupt both supply
conductors simultaneously.
Power Disconnect Device
Power disconnect protection MUST be provided in the building installation to allow
isolation of the equipment from its power source.
When the equipment is used where the identification of the earthed conductor in the
Mains Supply is not possible, a two-pole breaker (or similarly functioning simultaneous
two-pole disconnect device) must be employed.
