Operation and Maintenance
■ SCSI Devices
● The unit does not operate properly
Refer to "7.7.1 Connecting an External SCSI Option" (pg.199).
• Check to see whether the cable is connected properly. If it is not connected, correctly connect the
cable.
• Check to see whether the jumper pins are set properly. If not, correctly set the jumper pins.
• Check to see whether the SCSI-ID and the terminator are set properly. If not, correctly set the SCSI-
ID and terminator.
After the baseboard is replaced because of an error in a configuration where the onboard SCSI array
controller is used, the initialization process of the array controller logical drive starts. This is because the
data consistency information, which records whether the write data are correctly written on the hard disk
in the past, is saved on the baseboard. Because the information is lost by replacement, the initialization is
performed automatically to be consistent with data again. You can restore data consistency information
using maintenance tool just before the replacement and write back after the replacement, however, if you
cannot restore the information because of the baseboard malfunction, the initialization starts. This is not
because the hard disks are in failure as well as the initialization process.
