5.6 Chassis springs
5.6.1 Leaf springs
• Only use spring leaves which have been tested and
approved for the vehicle model in question.
Reinforcement by installing additional spring
leaves is not permitted.
• Do not damage the surface or the corrosion
protection of the spring leaves when carrying out
installation work.
• Before carrying out welding work, cover the spring
leaves to protect them against welding spatter. Do
not touch springs with welding electrodes or
welding tongs.
