To detect the envelope curve, an adaptation to the expected frequency of the amplitude chancing is necessary. So the
parameter that has to be set is the variable (e.g. Pressing Force) and the slew time constant in seconds. The slew time
constant is defined as the time in seconds where the amplitude will be slew from 100 % (zenith) to 34 % (drop of 66 %).
The first envelope curve is set on the positive, and the second is set to the negative zenith of the vibration.
Syntax: envel(variable;slew time constant)
Example: The envelope curve of a periodic Signal of 100 Hz should be measured. The selection of the slew time
depends on the basic frequency f
B
and the modulation frequency. A good result will provide a slew time
that is 10 (higher modulation frequency) to 15 (lower modulation frequency) times higher than 1/f
B
. In this
case the slew time is 15 * 1/100 Hz = 150 ms.
• Special 1…4 [spec1]
This buttons permit to define more complex functions like combination of conditionings and mathematics. This could be
a semi-automatically process control or a complex conditioning like stress analysis. The programming of the special
function has to be done according the customers requirements by Gantner Instruments Test & Measurement.
• Constant [const]
In this pop-up menus the software offers constants like Pi, e or g, to use them in calculations.
