Surface Components
Control Panel 
It is necessary to remove the control panel from the 
range or rangetop chassis and place it in the service 
position to access certain components. 
To place the control panel in the service position:
Note: It will be necessary to pull the rangetop 
approximately 10 inches out from its installation.
1.  Remove left and right side grates, surface 
burner knobs, grill and griddle control knobs. 
2.  On range models: 
a.  Remove the 2 Phillips-head screws that 
attach the griddle control bezel to the 
control panel. 
b.  Remove the 2 Phillips-head screws that 
attach the griddle control to the manifold 
bracket. 
5.  Remove the Phillips-head screw at each front 
corner that attaches the front of the side trim to 
the control panel.
3.  Remove the 2 Phillips-head screws within each  
bezel that attach the bezel to the manifold 
brackets.

4.  Remove the T-15 Torx screws from the bottom 
of the control panel.
WARNING: Sharp edges may be exposed when 
servicing. Use caution to avoid injury. Wear Kevlar 
gloves or equivalent protection.
Note: 
A ground wire at each end of the panel allows • 
the panel to be lowered without falling.  
Before lowering, protect the bottom of the front • 
panel from scratches caused by the lock motor 
arm (range models) or front frame edge.  
If the range has a grill, use caution when • 
lowering the control panel to prevent damage to 
the switches mounted at the bottom of the grill 
valve.
