Appendix B - Calibrating a pH sensor
The pH sensor is an electrochemical sensor. To function properly, electrochemical sensors have to recalibrate in regular intervals.
This is best done weekly, but at least a monthy.
For the two-point calibration you need two calibration fluids with different pH values, eg pH 4 and pH 9.2.
In this two-point calibration it is always the lower value first and then the higher value is measured.
The Bluebox independently calculates the calibration curve.
The calibration fluids are available as accessories under the item no. 3615910 at GO-Systemelektronik.
In addition, you need clean water for rinsing of the probes between the calibration steps.
Press the Main Menu on <Sensorlist>, then on the desired sensor and then <Calibration>.
To protect against misuse there is a password protection set up.
The four-digit code number is in the information sheet. Continue with
Before the calibration starts, it is neccesary to rinse the selected pH sensor with clean tap water. This
prevents pollution of the calibration fluid.
Open the bottle with the calibration fluid pH4. The with clean tap water rinsed pH sensor can be gently screwed into the interior of
the bottle with the calibration fluid. Now turn around the pH sensor together with the bottle, so that the sensor end is lapped with
calibration fluid.
Leave the sensor in the calibration fluid until the display is stable
Below the measured value the <[raw value]> is
shown.Pressing <Set> leads to the input of the first
measuring point. Enter the pH value of the calibration fluid
(here pH 4).
Continue with
The process is repeated with the second calibration fluid.
