1. Seal and bearing replacement (large vertical pumps with stand)

1. Close the inlet and outlet water valves.
2. Drain the liquid from the pump.
3. Remove support piece (2).
4. Remove support piece (1).
5. Any shims that are removed from support piece (1) must go
back in the same location during reassembly.
6. Remove the coupling guard (3) but not the motor bracket.
7. Remove the cover assembly on the coupling, then remove the
grid assembly from the coupling halves.
8. Remove the cap screws from each of the bearing housings
except the screws that connect to the lower pump housing.
Leave those cap screws to hold the rotating assembly in place
when removing the upper pump housing.
9. Remove the roll pins.
10. To remove the upper pump housing half (4) use two
3/4 in. diameter threaded rods, 14 in. long, for removing upper
pump housing and 1/2 in. eye bolt in the top of the upper
pump housing. Remove all the pump housing cap screws and
remove the upper pump housing.

- Before any inspection, maintenance, service or
repair of the product, make sure the motor controls
are in the "OFF" position, locked and tagged.
WARNING

- Do not allow anyone to stand near or below the
rotating assembly while it is being lifted.
- The upper bearing is friction fit on the shaft.
If you are lifting the rotating assembly above
ground, pick it up with slings on both sides of the
impeller.
The following procedure works for changing any
component of the rotating assembly (impellers,
sleeves, etc.)
Housing work requires removing the motor.
