6.5.1 Degree of protection of CANHEAD modules
Base modules consist of a robust, aluminum die‐cast protective housing.
Each module is protected against the penetration of solid foreign bodies with a
diameter of 2.5 mm or more. A prerequisite for this is that all 11 cable bushings
are used and that the housing cover is closed and locked. Base modules are
not protected against the ingress of water.
If there are more stringent protection requirements, the CANHEAD device can
also be mounted in an enclosed housing.
