7.3.2 CANHEAD with TEDS (CB1010)
TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) is the designation for an electronic
data sheet in the transducer.
It is stored in an electronic module that is an integral part of the transducer. It
can be installed in the transducer housing, in the permanently mounted cable
or in the connecting plug.
In the CANHEAD family, TEDS is supported by the CB1010 base module
because it is intended for use with transducers. The CB1010 module enables
the transducer information stored in the electronic data sheet to be read and
converted into amplifier settings. Measurement can thus be started immedi
ately.
CANHEAD supports TEDS transducers using the data protocol (one‐wire pro
tocol) defined in the IEEE 1451.4 standard.
The connection diagram is the same as with CB1010 for transducers without
TEDS (see chapter 7.3.1), because for transmitting the transducer identifica
tion that has been stored in digital format, the excitation and sense leads
already available with the six‐wire circuit are used (”HBM zero wire technol
ogy”).
