7 Connection
7.1 Connecting the modules CB1014/CH1015
With these modules, an eleventh measurement channel is used for thermal
compensation of the strain values.
This channel enables:
S a strain gage from the same foil batch (is exposed to the temperature at the
measuring point; is not mechanically loaded) to be connected
S a Pt100 (third order polynomial correction for temperature response) to be
connected
S no connection (temperature compensation deactivated)
Connection cables run through cable support sleeves and are connected to
terminal blocks.
Cable bushings are suppplied in diameters 5.2 mm and 7.5 mm; which allows
cables of different thicknesses to be connected:
S small cable support sleeve: for cable diameters up to max. 5.2 mm and
S large cable support sleeve: for cable diameters up to max. 7.5 mm
The 7.5 mm diameter cable support sleeves are fitted in CANHEAD as stan
dard, the 5.2 mm cable support sleeves come in a separate pack.
Thin cables can also be soldered to the soldering terminals.
Temperature compensation is only supported with MGCplus.
The CANHEADdirect interface does not support this function.
