4.3 Backrest Actuator
Chapter 4: Removal, Replacement, and Adjustment Procedures

Replacement
CAUTION:
Cable routing, clamps, and cable ties must be replaced as per the
original installation. Failure to install items correctly can cause damage
to the cables.
1. Reverse the procedures to install the new actuator.
2. Adjust the CPR cable. Go to “Adjustment” on page 4-10.
Adjustment
1. Raise the backrest to the highest position.
2. Activate the CPR release lever.
3. Manually lower the backrest.
4. Move both nuts towards the head end of the bed to remove cable slack, or
move both nuts towards the foot end to create cable slack (see figure 4-12
on page 4-10).

5. Inspect and repeat steps 2 through 4 as needed to make the backrest lower
correctly.
6. Make sure that the cable adjustment is tight before releasing the bed to
service.
7. Do the “Function Checks” on page 2-3.
