Hard drive
The hard drive is located in the drive cage, above the optical drive. You must remove the drive cage to remove
the hard drive. You must remove the optical drive to remove the drive cage.
NOTE: Before you remove the old hard drive, be sure to back up the data from the old hard drive so that you
can transfer the data to the new hard drive.
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 15).
2. Remove the access panel (Access panel on page 16).
3. Remove the front bezel (Front bezel on page 21).
4. Remove the optical drive (Optical drive on page 23).
5. Disconnect the cables from the rear of the hard drive (1).
6. Remove the three Torx screws that secure the drive cage to the computer (2).
7. Slide the drive cage toward the front of the computer (3).
8. Lift the drive cage out of the computer (4).
9. To remove a hard drive from the drive cage, remove the four screws that secure the drive to the drive
cage (1), and then slide the drive out of the cage (2).
To install a hard drive, reverse the removal procedures.
