the recommended
operating or storage
temperature ranges (see
operating temperature
ranges in Appendix D
and battery storage
ranges in Chapter 5).
Battery gauge is
inaccurate
The battery pack is
new or was not used
for a long time and
has not been fully
charged.
Fully charge the battery
pack until the battery
light turns off.
Allow the battery pack to
discharge to the low-
battery warning level at
least every 90 days, then
fully charge.
Solving Diskette and Diskette Drive Problems

Cannot access
diskette drive
Diskette drive is not
seated properly
Remove and then
reinsert the diskette drive
until it clicks into place.
Diskette drive
cannot write to a
diskette.
Diskette is write-
protected.
Disable the write-protect
feature or use a diskette
that is not write-
protected.
Diskette is not
formatted.
Format the diskette.
Not enough space is
left on the diskette.
Use a larger diskette.
Computer is trying to
write to the wrong
drive.
Verify the drive letter.
The diskette drive
controller or diskette
write ability has been
disabled.
Run Computer Setup
and enable the diskette
drive controller or the
diskette write ability
under Storage.
