2. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the setup of
the Windows operating system and the Compaq value-add
software.
3. When prompted to select your language (and Windows
operating system on some models), choose carefully.
IMPORTANT:
The languages (and operating system on some
models) that you do not choose will be deleted and cannot be
recovered.
4. When prompted to select a keyboard, if you are not sure which
keyboard to select, accept the highlighted choice for your
country. (The keyboard language and layout can be changed at
any time in Windows Keyboard Properties.)
When making selections and filling in information, you can
move around the screen by pressing the Tab key, pressing the
keyboard up and down arrow keys, or by moving the onscreen
pointer and clicking the mouse button. View all options in a
drop-down list by clicking the arrow to the right of the list.
The pointing device (between the letters G, H, and B) and the
buttons (in front of the spacebar) are used as you would use a
mouse. Push the pointing device in the direction that you want
to move the onscreen pointer. Press the left mouse button to
click or double-click, and press the right mouse button to
right-click.
If the screen saver function blanks the screen during a period
of keyboard and mouse inactivity, press the Shift key to
restore the screen.
5. When the software setup is complete, the computer restarts
and the Welcome to Windows screen appears.
