What to do if cannot release the Protect attribute of the THP V-VOLs on HP XP7 Storage? SIM code 628000 was issued.
    • M
      mendozaandrewAug 28, 2025
If you are unable to release the Protect attribute of the THP V-VOLs and SIM code 628000 was issued, it could be due to: * The pool is full. * The pool-VOL is blocked. * The pool-VOL that is an external volume is blocked. To resolve this, add pool-VOLs to the pool to increase the free space in the pool. If the blocked pool-VOL is an external volume, verify the status of the path blockade and the external storage system.

What to do if SIM code 624000 was issued on HP XP7?
    • K
      Kenneth LarsenAug 29, 2025
If SIM code 624000 was issued on HP Storage, it means that the pools and THP V-VOLs configuration, of which the size is more than the supported capacity, is created. To resolve this, remove pools that are not used.

Why open-systems hosts cannot read from or write to a volume on HP XP7 Storage?
    • J
      Jeff ForbesAug 30, 2025
If open-systems hosts cannot read from or write to a volume on HP Storage, it is because the volume is protected by the read-only attribute. Write failure is reported as an error message.

Why mainframe hosts cannot read from or write to a volume on HP XP7 Storage?
    • T
      Thomas CarrAug 30, 2025
If mainframe hosts cannot read from or write to a volume on HP Storage, it is because the volume is protected by the read-only attribute. Write failure is reported as a Write Inhibit condition.

What to do if the host computer tries to access the port, error occurs and the host cannot access the port on HP XP7?
    • R
      Robert RivasAug 31, 2025
If the host computer tries to access the port, and an error occurs, and the host cannot access the port on HP Storage, it could be because the free space of the pool is insufficient. To resolve this, check the free space of the pool and increase the capacity of the pool.

How to fix HP Storage pool usage level exceeds the threshold?
    • C
      carolynmyersAug 25, 2025
If the pool usage level exceeds the threshold in your HP Storage, it could be due to several reasons: * Too many THP V-VOLs are associated with the pool. * Too much data is stored in the pool. * The capacity of the pool is insufficient. * The threshold of the pool is too low. To resolve this, you can add pool-VOLs to increase the capacity or set a larger value to the threshold of the pool.

What to do if a pool cannot be deleted on HP Storage?
    • L
      lisa85Sep 1, 2025
If a pool cannot be deleted on HP Storage, it could be because the pool usage is not 0 or THP V-VOLs have not been deleted. Confirm that the pool usage is 0 after the THP V-VOLs are deleted, then you can delete the pool.

Why when you are operating Remote Web Console, a timeout occurs frequently on HP XP7?
    • A
      Alex PruittSep 2, 2025
If, when you are operating Remote Web Console, a timeout occurs frequently on HP Storage, it could be because: * The load on the Remote Web Console computer is too heavy, so that it cannot respond to the SVP. * The period of time until when time-out occurs is set too short. Wait for a while, then try the operation again or verify the setting of the environment parameter of Remote Web Console RMI time-out period.

Why cannot reclaim zero pages in a THP V-VOL on HP XP7?
    • A
      ahillSep 2, 2025
If you cannot reclaim zero pages in a THP V-VOL on HP Storage, it is because the THP V-VOL does not meet conditions for releasing pages in a THP V-VOL. Make sure that the THP V-VOL meets the conditions described in "Releasing pages in a THP V-VOL".
  • R
    Ryan LewisSep 3, 2025
Why the THP V-VOL cannot be released if the process to reclaim zero pages in the THP V-VOL is interrupted on HP Storage?
    • A
      ashley22Sep 3, 2025
If the THP V-VOL cannot be released if the process to reclaim zero pages in the THP V-VOL is interrupted on HP Storage, it is because pages of the THP V-VOL are not released because the process of reclaiming zero pages was interrupted. Make sure that the THP V-VOL meets the conditions described in "Releasing pages in a THP V-VOL".
