Procedure
1. Observe the following alerts:
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the drives and the internal system
components to cool before touching them.
CAUTION: Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage electronic components. Be sure that you are properly
grounded (earthed) before beginning any installation procedure.
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all PCI slots have
either an expansion slot cover or an expansion board installed.
2. Power down the system (Power down the system).
3. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the system.
4.
Remove the system from the rack (Remove the system from the rack).
5.
Place the system on a flat, level surface.
6.
Remove the access panel (
Remove the access panel).
CAUTION: Do not operate the system for long periods with the access panel open or removed. Operating the system
in this manner results in improper airflow and improper cooling that can lead to thermal damage.
7.
Remove the primaryPCIe riser cage.
8. Remove the DSC-25 card from the slot.
