PrerequisitesPrerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have the following items available:
The components included with the hardware option kit
T-10 Torx screwdriver
ProcedureProcedure
1. Power down the server.
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Do one of the following:
Extend the server from the rack .
Remove the server from the rack .
4. Remove the access panel .
5. Do one of the following:
Remove the air baffle .
If installed, remove the 4LFF midplane drive cage .
6. Remove the fan cage.
7. Disconnect the power switch module cable from the power switch/SID module connector.
The SID module cable connects to the same connector.
8. Remove the power switch module. Retain the T-10 screw.
CAUTION:CAUTION: When routing cables, make sure that the cables are not in a position where they can be pinched or
crimped.
9. Route the SID cable through the opening in the front of the server, and then install the SID module. Secure the module using the T-10
