CAUTION:CAUTION: Do not detach the cable that connects the battery pack to the cache module. Detaching the cable causes any
unsaved data in the cache module to be lost.
CAUTION:CAUTION: For proper cooling, do not operate the server without the access panel, baffles, expansion slot covers, or
blanks installed. If the server supports hot-plug components, minimize the amount of time the access panel is open.
ProcedureProcedure
1. Power down the server.
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Do one of the following:
Extend the server from the rack .
Remove the server from the rack .
4. Remove the access panel .
5. Do one of the following:
Remove the air baffle.
Remove the midplane drive cage:
a. Disconnect all cables.
b. Remove all drives.
Be sure to note the location of each drive.
c. Remove the drive cage.
A 4LFF version is shown.
CAUTION:CAUTION: Do not drop the drive cage on the system board. Dropping the drive cage on the system board
might damage the system or components. Remove all drives and use two hands when installing or removing
the drive cage.
