Emergency Handling for Fire Incidents in Battery Rooms
Batteries on re may release ammable and toxic gases and cause insulation
failures. During the re extinguishing process, all emergency response personnel
must wear a full set of protective suite, including ame retardant or reproof
clothing, air-purifying respirator or breathing apparatus, re helmet, and insulated
shoes.
A battery re may reignite after having been extinguished. After the re is
extinguished, cool the batteries for at least 24 hours and observe them using a
thermal imager to ensure that the temperature of the batteries decreases to room
temperature.
1. The gas re extinguishing system in the room shall be started after all people
evacuate to a safe area.
2. If the gas re extinguishing system cannot extinguish the re, emergency
response personnel shall start the dry-type water re extinguishing system
after conrming that the power supply to the battery system is disconnected.
Then quickly evacuate to a safe area and wait for reghters to extinguish
the re. After reghters arrive and extinguish the re, spray water for 12
hours.
3. After the reghters conrm onsite that the equipment temperature has
decreased to room temperature±10°C, observe the situation for 24 hours to
ensure that the temperature does not rise and no smoke is emitted.
Recycling
● Dispose of waste batteries in accordance with local laws and regulations. Do
not dispose of batteries as household waste. Improper disposal of batteries
may result in environmental pollution or an explosion.
● If a battery leaks or is damaged, contact technical support or a battery
recycling company for disposal.
● If batteries are out of service life, contact a battery recycling company for
disposal.
● Do not expose waste batteries to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
● Do not place waste batteries in environments with high humidity or corrosive
substances.
● Do not use faulty batteries. Contact a battery recycling company to scrap
them as soon as possible to avoid environmental pollution.
