1. Make sure the cables to all drives in the tower are securely connected. See
“Adding and removing drives” on page 84 for information to help you
check these connections.
2. Press Enter while the error message is displayed. This starts the Setup
Utility. See “Viewing system information” on page 35 for information to
help you verify that the processor speed setting is correct. (Find the
processor speed [in MHz] on the label attached to the front of your tower.) If
the setting is not correct, see the HelpWare book for information on
obtaining service.
3. In the tower, make sure the hard disk signal cable is attached to the correct
connector on the system board. Also make sure the master/slave jumper
settings on the hard disk are correct. For information about drive
connectors and master/slave jumper settings in the tower, see “Adding and
removing drives” on page 84.
180X PCI or Plug and Play (PnP)
Adapter Card Resource Error
1. If you installed a new PCI or PnP adapter card
, use the Setup Utility to verify
that the resources allocated to any other installed adapter cards are actually
required by the other cards. For information about assigning ISA Legacy
resources in the Setup Utility, see “Changing adapter card device
information” on page 46.
2. If you need to provide resources for the adapter card, follow these steps:
a. From the Windows 95 Device Manager, remove the COM and LPT ports.
b. In the Setup Utility, disable serial port A and the parallel port.
c. Restart Windows. The serial and parallel ports will be enabled when they
are needed.
3. If you have not
installed a new PCI or PnP adapter card, see the HelpWare
book for information on obtaining service.
