Modem commands 161
Zn Instructs the modem to go on-hook and restore the profile saved by the last &W command:
n=0 Restores the profile saved by the last &W command (same as n=1).
n=1 Restores the profile saved by the last &W command (same as n=0).
&B1 Enables V.32 auto retrain.
&Cn Determines whether data carrier detection (DCD) is always on or on only when the remote modem’s carrier signal is
detected.
n=0 DCD is always on, regardless of the state of the carrier.
n=1 DCD turns on when the remote modem’s carrier signal is detected, and off when the carrier signal is not detected.
&Dn Determines how the modem responds to the data terminal ready (DTR) signal.
n=0 The modem ignores the state indicated by the DTR signal and acts as if the state were on.
n=1 If the DTR signal is not detected while the modem is in online data mode, the modem enters command mode, issues
the OK return code, and remains connected.
n=2 If the DTR signal is not detected while the modem is in online data mode, the modem disconnects.
n=3 The modem resets when the DTR signal changes from on to off.
&Fn Returns a modem profile to the original factory setting.
n=0 Recalls the factory settings as the active configuration.
n=5 Recalls the factory settings appropriate for ETC mode as the active configuration.
&Gn Determines which guard tone to transmit in V.22 and V.22bis modes. This command is for international use only and is not
used in North America.
n=0 Disables the guard tone.
n=1 Sets the guard tone to 550 Hz.
n=2 Sets the guard tone to 1800 Hz.
&J0 Specifies that the auxiliary relay is never closed.
&Kn Sets the local flow control.
n=0 Disables flow control.
n=3 Enables RTS/CTS flow control (default).
n=4 Enables XON/XOFF flow control.
