28 SR61 Cordless Scanner User’s Guide
4 Start the SR61 Firmware Upgrade Utility.
5 Click Browse to browse to the location of the firmware (.ldr)
file.
6 Select the firmware file and click Open.
7 From the COM Port drop-down list box, select the COM
port that the SR61 is using for Bluetooth communications.
8 Click Next. The upgrade utility gets the Bluetooth address
and current version of firmware on your SR61.
9 Click Upgrade. The status bar appears and the upgrade utility
upgrades your SR61 with the latest firmware.
The upgrade utility notifies you when the upgrade is
complete.
Troubleshooting the Firmware Upgrade
If the SR61 locks up during the upgrade procedure and does not
respond when you pull the trigger or remove and install the
battery, you may still be able to connect to it from your PC and
upgrade the firmware.
To troubleshoot a locked up SR61
1 Make sure that the battery is charged and inserted properly in
the SR61.
2 From your PC, use the Bluetooth application to search for
Bluetooth devices.
3 If your SR61 appears in the list, connect to it from the
Bluetooth application.
If your SR61 does not appear in the list, contact Intermec
Support Services at 1-800-755-5505.
4 When the Bluetooth PIN Code Request box appears, enter
the following case-sensitive PIN in the Bluetooth PIN Code
field, and click OK:
zxcvasdfqwer
The Bluetooth application connects to the boot loader code
on your SR61. “Intermec SR61 Boot Server” may appear in
the Device Name list instead of the name of your SR61
scanner.
