A.9 Hydrological data for the liquid cooling
CAUTION! Damage to the device due to condensation on the cooling plate
• Carelessness can cause condensation on the cooling plate and as a
consequence irreparable damage to the device!
The temperature of the cooling plate is not allowed to be more than 10°C below the ambient
temperature.
Note:
Sufcient removal of the heat from the chiller is to be provided by the
customer.
Requirements Limits
Coolant quality
Recommended: tap water + corrosion inhibitor
Corrosion protection by means of: 10-20% ethylene glycol by vol.
Limit concentrations:
Calcium < 50 ppm
Magnesium < 50 ppm
Total alkaline earth ions < 100 ppm
Chloride < 25 ppm
Sulphate < 25 ppm
Soiling
The coolant must be as pure as possible to ensure the channels are not clogged. With
a suspended matter concentration of more than 15mg/dm³, continuous purication is
recommended.
Coolant temperature
The coolant temperature can be between 5°C and 50°C. The coolant temperature
must not be more than 10°K below the ambient temperature to prevent condensation
on the heat sink.
Chiller material and the
connections
Aluminium
Table A.8 Requirements, liquid cooling
Note:
Do not use any combination of materials with contact corrosion such as
aluminium and copper in the cooling circuit. A combination of materials can
result in leaks and blockages of the cooling lines.
