5.3.1.3 – CHANNELS 3–8 LINE/PHONO SWITCHES
Sets whether channels 3–8 are expecting line level or phono level signals. Each channel has its own
switch with two possible states:
• Line = Input channel is expecting line level signals
• Phono = Input channel is expecting phono level signals
Typically “Phono” will only be used when plugging turntables directly into K-Mix. Most other equipment
will operate at line level.
5.3.1.4 – PASS THRU
Two switches that enable/disable “Pass Thru” for the faders
and/or rotaries.
With the lack of traditional knobs or faders, K-Mix allows
you to make discontinuous jumps; if you want to jump from
11 to 127 you don’t have to move the faders through every
value in-between. This can be very useful in some situations, but could be less than desirable for some
people.
Pass Thru is meant to solve this. When both are enabled, faders and rotaries will not move until your
nger “passes through” the current value. This will prevent any discontinuous jumps that may occur
otherwise. You can enable pass thru for faders and rotaries separately if you prefer.
Other software/hardware may sometimes refer to this functionality as fader “takeover”.
• ON = Pass Thru is enabled.
• OFF = Pass Thru is disabled.
• By default, Pass Thru is disabled.
5.3.1.5 – EXPANDER CONTROL
The “Expander Control” switch will enable/disable the ability to control K-Mix via the MIDI Expander
(sold separately). It is advisable to keep this setting disabled unless you are using a MIDI Expander to
control K-Mix. More information about controlling K-Mix using a MIDI Expander can be found in section
4.3.5 - MIDI Input via MIDI Expander.
Channels 3-8 Line/Phono Switches, Pass Thru, and Expander Control are editor-only
parameters. They may not be adjusted from the mixer.
