*TRG
Trigger command. Triggers the instrument when TRIGger:SOURce BUS is selected.
Parameter Typical return
(none) (none)
Triggers the instrument:
TRIG:SOUR BUS
INIT
*TRG
– After setting the trigger source, send INITiate command to place the instrument into "wait-for-trigger" state.
The *TRG command is not accepted unless the instrument is in the "wait-for-trigger" state.
– *TRG does not work with READ? command.
*TST?
Self-test query. Runs a standard self-test which is invoked at power-on. It will take few seconds to complete. If all
tests pass, you can have high confidence that the instrument is operational.
Parameter Typical return
(none) +0 (pass) or +1 (one or more tests failed)
Runs a standard self-test: *TST?
– The TEST:ALL? self-test query is more comprehensive than the *TST? self-test query.
– When sending the *TST? query, you may need to increase the timeout period for your IO Library read response
time to allow the command to complete without causing a timeout error.
– Upon completion of *TST?, the instrument returns to the last instrument state before the self-test.
– For a complete listing of the error messages related to self-test failures, see Self-test Errors.
*WAI
Wait command. Waits for all pending operations to complete before executing any additional commands over the
remote interface.
Parameter Typical return
(none) (none)
Waits for all pending operations to complete: *WAI
– Configuration changes and measurements are considered pending operations. Therefore, *WAI causes these
changes to occur and complete.
