GAUGE WHEEL ADJUSTMENT
Add or remove machine bushings between shank and gauge wheel arm to adjust contact between gauge wheels and
opener blades. Gauge wheels should lightly contact opener blades to prevent accumulation of dirt or trash. Gauge
wheels and opener blades should turn with only slight resistance.
Store remaining machine bushings between gauge wheel arm and flat washer on outer side of gauge wheel arm.
Use the following guidelines:
NOTE: Contact must be checked with wheel in operating position.
Contact should be no less than one half of the rotation of the wheel (it does not have to be continuous). Wheel should
rotate in the direction of travel of the row unit.
Shim gauge wheel to lightly contact opener disc
blade in this area for 4" to 6". Check adjustment
in operating position.
