6.2.3 System Check
The system check ensures that each channel of the force
plate outputs a signal which is correctly amplified in the
charge amplifier and output to BioWare (or whatever sys-
tem is connected).
The test is performed by just pushing on the force plate
manually along the edges and on the corners.
6.2.4 Setup Parameters
Regularly check if the force plate setup parameters in Bio-
Ware (or any other system used) comply with the force
plate used.
Sensitivity (see individual calibration sheet of the force
plate according to serial number)
Dimension (see instruction manuals of the force plate)
Position of force plates relative to each other (see Bio-
Ware instruction manuals)
6.3 Regular Calibration of the Charge Amplifier
It is advisable to regularly check the charge amplifier for
correct functioning.
Zero offset
Drift
Correct "amplification" ratio Charge [pC]/[Voltage V]
This task needs special equipment and Kistler trained ser-
vice personnel.
Zero offset and drift tests can be done using the "voltme-
ter" function of BioWare or any other software or voltme-
ter directly at the analog output pins. With some charge
amplifier models, the zero offset can be adjusted from out-
side the unit.
