9.5 Service and Maintenance Overview
Never perform any type of maintenance on the high pressure water system while it is pressurized.
Always turn the power off and bleed the high pressure water before servicing. Pressing the
emergency stop button turns the control power off to the intensifier, and bleeds high pressure
water through the dump valve.
Improper assembly can lead to the premature failure of components. Maintenance procedures
must be followed carefully; components must be properly cleaned prior to assembly and
tightened to the correct torque specifications.
Some high pressure components are not serviceable at the customer level, others require precise
refinishing. KMT Waterjet Systems offers maintenance and refinishing services for these
components.
