12.7 Adjusting the basic position of the foot brake lever x
Warning
Danger of accidents Brake system failure.
– If there is no free travel on the foot brake lever, pressure builds up on the rear brake circuit. The rear brake can fail due to over-
heating. Adjust the free travel on foot brake lever according to specifications.

– Loosen fitting 3 on foot brake cylinder 4.
– To adjust the basic position of the foot brake lever individually, loosen nut 1 and turn
screw 2 accordingly.

The range of adjustment is limited. The screw must be screwed into the footrest
bracket by at least four turns.
– Position foot brake cylinder 4 so that the foot brake lever has the necessary free travel.
Hold screws 3 in place and tighten the nuts.
Guideline
Screw connection, foot brake cylinder M6 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft)
– Check the free travel of the foot brake lever. ( p. 90)
– Tighten nut 1.
