14.2.3 Expansion tank
An expansion tank (a) is installed next to the pump. Its
function is to optimise the operation of the pump and to
ensure a smooth flow of the water.
The expansion tank is adjusted to a pressure of 0.9 bar
that is suitable for operation with the pump installed as
standard on the vehicle. The pressure can be adjusted
with a standard compressor by means of the appro-
priate valve (b). It is recommended to check the
pressure at least once a year, using a pressure gauge.
In the case of replacement of the pump with a different
type, it is necessary to change the pressure of the
expansion tank.
Refer to the manufacturer handbook for further infor-
mation on the expansion tank.

USER’S GUIDE
a
b
• Clean the pump filter at regular intervals.
• Check, at least once a year, the value of the
pressure of the expansion tank.
THINGS TO DO
• Do not operate the pump if the fresh water tanks
are empty as damage to the pump may result.
THINGS TO AVOID
• Constantly check the water level in the tanks on
the control panel.
• For the installation of additional tanks, contact
an authorised workshop and use genuine Laika
spare parts.
• Wash and rinse the tanks with water conditioning
products at regular intervals.
• Empty the system completely when the vehicle is
not being used.
• Do not keep the taps open when the vehicle is not
being used.
THINGS TO DO
• Do not leave water in the tanks when the vehicle
is not being used.
• Do not leave the system under pressure when the
vehicle is not being used.
• The water of the tanks is not suitable for drinking,
cooking and washing food.
THINGS TO AVOID
On all vehicles - except for Kreos 8002, 8009, 8012
- it is required before departure to empty the fresh
water tank down to 20% of the total capacity. This
can be done by using the dedicated discharge tap.
