Purpose:
To
store
constant
numbers
and
string
values
in
your
porgram
so
they
can
be
used
in
conjunction
with
the
READ
statement.
Format:
DAT
A constant (, constant)
...
Comments:
DAT
A
statements
are
non-
executable
and
may
be
pl
aced
anywhere
in
the
program.
Example:
No
numeric
or
string
expressions
can
be used
in
the
DAT
A
statement.
The
constant
may
be
a
number
or
a
string.
There
is
no
need
to
enclose a
string
with
quot
atio
n
marks
("),
but
any
spaces
in
between
are
ignored.
The
numeric
constants
may
be
in
any
format,
i.e.,
fixed
point,
floating
point
or
integer.
The
variable
type
given
in
the
READ
stateme
nt
must
agree
with
the
corresponding
constant
in
the
DATA
statement.
