"CTRL"
key
The
func
ti
on
of
th
e "CTRL"
key
is
simila
r to
that
of
the
"SHIFT" keys.
If
you
hold
down
the
"CTRL"
key
while
pressing
another
key,
a
special
control-charact
er
will
be gen
erated.
These
control
-
characters
can
n
ot
be
displayed
on
the
screen.
Instead,
they
are
recogniz
ed
by some
appli
c
ation
programs
as
specia
l
comma
nd
s.
Many
of
the
special
keys discussed
before
generate
control
-
characters.

le,
pressing
the
"I"
key
while
holdin

dow
n
the
"CTRL"
key
is
equivalent
to
pre
ss
ing
the
"TAB"
key
alone
.
