3. GETTING STARTED
At this point, you should have some ba s ic i deas of th e
LASER 128/ 128EX a nd i ts capab il it i es so that you may
start to work with it ac tuall y. To set up the computer
system, yo u need the fo ll owing items:
• The Computer ma in unit
• T he AC power adaptor in c lu ded
• The video en ble in c lu ded
• A video monitor, or a TV with a TV interfa ce
3.1 Co nnectin g th e AC power adaptor
The computer main u nit will operate wi th a
power s upply from +I 3V DC to +I 8.7V DC.
For greater portability, the AC power
adaptor is separa t ed from the main unit and
th e powe r so urce ca n al so be a batte r y pack.
To connect the power adaptor, locate the
power ON / OFF sw it ch and the power
connector on th e back panel of t he main
unit : Throw the sw it ch to the "OFF" position.
Plug the DC power p lu g of the AC powe r
adapto r into th e power co nn ector of th e
co m pute r. Fina lly, p lu g the AC power plug
into the wall outlet. Figure 3 -1 shows details
of the pr ocedures .
