GETTING STARTED
If instead you wan t to u se the compute r
without a program disk, yo u sh ould then
hold down the "CTRL" key and press the
"RESET" button once. The foll ow i ng thin gs
wi ll h appen :
• A "beep" sound is made by the speake r.
• The drive indi cato r goes of f and the
disk drive st ops running.
• The prompt charac ter " )" and a flashing
"checker -b oard" curso r arc displayed on
th e bottom of the sc reen to inform yo u
that you are now in BA SIC command
level.
You may then t ype in any va lid BASIC
commands or sta tcmcnts. (However, you can't
save Basic programs on disk if you have not
started up the computer w ith a disk
con ta inin g operating system.) Refer to PART
II of thi s manual for a detailed description
of BASIC commands.
