THE VIDEO DISPLAY
The co lor of a dot dep ends on its horizontal
plotting position as well as the s tate of
ad j ace nt pixels:
Dots plotted on even co lumn s of the scree n
will be either viole t or green while dots on
odd columns of the scree n will be either blue
or orange.
Two color dots must be sepa r ated by at least
one black dot.
Two ad j ace nt pixels which are turned on
give rise to a cont inuou s wh ite dot.
As a result, the eff ec tive "c olo r-re so lution"
of hi-res mode is l 40H x l 92V . Like lo-res
graphics, two hi-res pictures ca n be stored in
the compute r at the same time but only one
of them can be displayed at a time.

The double-high-resolution graph ic s
(abb re v ia ted as double- Hi- res) screen is
div i ded into 560H x 1 92V pixels. Only one
display page is available as in med-re s
graphics . Depending on the horizontal
plotti ng position of a dot a nd the state of its
ad j ace nt pixels, one of the 16 colors shown
in t ab le 5-1 can be displayed.
