BASIC COMMANDS AND STATEMENTS
3.38 ONERR GOTO
Purpose: To avoid halting the program
when an error is encountered.
Format: ONERR GOTO linenumber
Comments: Using this statement facilitates
error trapping, as it can direct
the program to a routine (an
error handling routine) dealing
with error conditions that may
arise in your program.
The RESUME statement can be
used to come out from the error
trapping routine.
The ONERR GOTO statement
may be located anywhere within
the pr ogram but it is a good
practice to have it as early as
possible, as this statement must
be executed before the
occu r ance of an error to a void
program interruption.
